Epson Stylus Photo Rx620 – Color Inkjet Mfc With Lcd Screen
If you’re looking for a photo quality color inkjet printer that also doubles as a home copy machine and scanner, consider the Epson Stylus Photo RX620, a multifunctional color printer with a 90 nozzle, six color setup that ensures the highest possible resolution for its price range.
With a six color system, not only are the four primary pigment colors (black, cyan, magenta, and yellow) represented by ink cartridges, but the additional shades of light cyan and light magenta are as well, allowing the Epson Stylus Photo RX620 more freedom to match light, off white shades accurately than with a standard setup. While the black cartridge advertises a 630 page yield, color cartridges fall behind with only 430 pages a piece.
One of the most appealing features of the Epson Stylus Photo RX620 is the full color LCD preview screen dedicated directly into the hardware. The screen lets you not only navigate through menus, but also preview and select photos from multiple types of input sources, making the unit a totally PC independent device if need be. It can even adjust pictures with enlargement and resizing options. With compatible input devices ranging from memory card types to external cameras and even CD drives, the RX620 allows you to skip the hassle of navigating through pictures via computer.
Possibly the most unique option the Epson Stylus Photo RX620 offers, and, if nothing else the coolest, is the hardcopy thumbnail select mode that allows a user to print out a proof sheet of any sized album, then select the ones desired for print. The proof sheet is then reinserted back into the machine and the RX620 recognizes the selections, and automatically prints them! Features such as this, and others, make the printer not only a truly stand alone unit, but extremely user friendly as well.
Photographs will always come out looking professional thanks to borderless printing technology made possible by Epson’s True Borderfree hardware, and a minimum ink droplet size of 3 picoliters not only ensures an unperceivable border, but maximum accuracy in picture quality, though borderless print sizes are limited to 4 x 6 inch, 5 x 7 inch, and 8 x 10 inch standard photo dimensions. Resolution itself is adjustable up to 5760 x 1440 optimized dots per inch, and a scan resolution of up to 2400 x 4800 dots per inch optical, and 9600 x 9600 interpolated, along with a 48 bit color depth, ensures that input media quality will be preserved in full.
Hardware accessories include a transparency adapter that allows users to copy slides, negatives, and transparencies using the standard document glass as if they were standard paper. If PC connectivity is required for use of the Epson Stylus Photo RX620 as a standard printer, a standard USB port makes it possible to print black text at a rate of up to 17 pages per minute. Color text is also possible at 16 pages per minute, and photo times clock in at 39 seconds for a 4 x 6, and a sluggish 67 seconds for an 8 x 10, securing the RX620 as an MFC device that is sluggish, but highly versatile.
