Now, the Phuket Vegetarian Festival, which will be a whole rejuvenated experience kick, starts in the month of October. The entrants involving both men and women move around the streets having their cheeks pierced with sharp objects like needles, spears, knives and many other things. These people are said to experience no pain and makes it all the more exciting and interesting. However, this is not meant for you, if you are prudish.
The vegetarian festival opens the doors for exploring the most unique and tasty vegetarian foods even shutting down the supply of meat in the local restaurants. The last day of this festival is most uniquely followed in Saphan Hin where firecrackers are burnt along with the native Maa song being sung by the huge procession through the Phuket Town.
If you enjoy Chinese food, then you can visit Phuket during the Chinese New Year in the month of February. The New Year’s Eve is quite enjoyable in Patong, where the brilliant display of firecrackers along the beach often turns into a mess up.
