Airbrush Airbrushing

An Airbrush is the key to success for the modern amateur artist

Amateur artists have never shied away from trying new and innovative things in their work and graphic pieces, many contemporary artists are now using modern technology to recreate and push new boundaries in modern art by using modern artistic applications and mediums such as Airbrushes and small spray guns.

What if you knew that in the modern world of art, there was a way to apply paint in a precise and defining manner which was time saving and more precise than the techniques of arts founding fathers, well now there is and it is through the use of an airbrush that modern designers as pushing modern ways to place their work in front of modern audiences.

We can name modern street artists such as the sounds of Banksey and related their popular work to the use of modern, sometime classed as ‘street art’ inspirations.  Banksey was indeed a trend setter in the early part of the Twenty First Century and through his rise to fame, many other smaller and lesser well known artist have now had a spring board of raising popularity propel their work into the galleries of London and Liverpool, we of course talk about modern graphic artists who are now free to use canvases which before were inaccessible to hand bush and spray painters. These canvases are the likes of, the human body, painting car body work, motorbike customisation and modification, airbrushes even now have applications in the make-up and beauty niche… No longer a simple tool used on a computer to touch up glamour models, the airbrush has moved on from here and is now seen as an important trade for any artist who may want to earn a living from the commercial applications of painting… Although this is nothing new in the world of the artist, as the Sistine chapel painted by Michelangelo was nothing but this, a commercial job which the painter took upon himself to do, now if we could fast forward Michelangelo and place him in front of an Iwata Airbrush for the day, it is sure to be said that the painting of the ceiling here at the Sistine Chapel could have been completed in a timely fashion, leaving the artist free to go and explore the rest of Vatican City and take his inspiration and see the potential in time saving, allowing him to be even more successful.

Although the likes of Michelangelo will never get to offer a true opinion on the delights that an airbrush and its applications in modern painting and place in art, we can bring to modern art to the world of Michelangelo and see here that the artist has applied a set of angel wings to the spine of a live model, although skin in a canvas which tattoo artists often work on, the principle of spraying on the ink or paint; rather than excreting it under the surface of the skin, technique and experience will count for a lot here, however any budding artist will agree, that trial and error is one way to learn, however sometimes it is down to the artists interpretation of the piece and the impact of the art work, not the time or effort that has gone into it, techniques are indeed ticks of the trade that young artists learn fast, embracing change is key to success and highlighting the change in modern art are the new artists who are using airbrushes to convey their latest and greatest pieces.

About the Author

I have a passion for art and seeing art in my daily commute around the city does indeed brighten my day. After seeing a lot of spray paint on the vans and trains around the UK I began to get more and more into spray art and Airbrushes, I found www.GraphicAir.co.uk sells a good range of amateur airbrush supplies and airbrush kits and I thought that others might like to read my spin on this modern artistic medium.
